ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Desiree Aspiras (she/her) is an educator, therapist, and facilitator focused on integrating creativity and contemplative approaches into her work in mental health and higher education. She also engages in community-building that centers art and social change. Rooted in over a decade of meditation and mindfulness practice, she is the founder of Deep Breath Network, where she creates spaces to engage in inner work and mindfulness practices. Across her work, Desiree holds hope, meaning-making, and courage as essential themes in supporting personal and collective transformation. She is a certified mindfulness instructor through MNDFL with additional peak performance coach training through UCSD’s Center for Mindfulness mPEAK program. She holds a masters in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego and a BA in Political Science from UCLA.
